筑紫口 (2026)
福岡のまちを走る自転車の軌跡を、尾形光琳「紅白梅図屏風」に見立てた作品です。一台一台が走ったルートを梅の枝に、発着するポートを梅の花に置き換え、花の大きさには各ポートの利用数を反映しています。表情の異なる平日朝と休日朝の走行データを重ねることで、異なる時間の都市の動きをひとつの画面に描いています。データは、効率化や分析のためだけにあるのではなく、その土地やサービスに固有の「かたち」を内包してます。本作では、データを本来の意味や用途からいったん切り離し、絵画として捉え直すことで、福岡というまちの別の姿を立ち上げようとしました。チャリチャリ株式会社より走行データの提供を受けて制作しています。
This work reimagines the trajectories of bicycles moving through the city of Fukuoka through the composition of Ogata Kōrin’s Red and White Plum Blossoms. Each bicycle route becomes a branch of a plum tree, while the ports where rides begin and end become its blossoms. The size of each blossom reflects the volume of rides at each port. By layering mobility data from weekday and weekend mornings—two periods with distinctly different patterns—the work brings movements from different moments in the city together within a single pictorial space. Data is not only a tool for efficiency and analysis; it also contains forms unique to a particular place and service. By detaching the data from its original meaning and function and reinterpreting it through painting, this work seeks to reveal another image of Fukuoka.
